Equine Assisted Psychotherapy; Healing with horses.

What is equine assisted psychotherapy I hear you ask?

To define it in words, really is no easy task.

I shall try my best to describe this unique experience,

On feelings and emotions, horses can have such an influence.

Through their interactions with you and response to your energy,

Some insight about yourself, you may find some synergy.

The wisdom of these creatures sees right through to your soul,

The lessons they offer can fix what is broken, make you feel whole.

Through the horses, metaphors of life can be so powerful,

The impact this has on humans can be so wonderful.

Horses have no hidden agenda or expectations of you,

So you need not fear, to yourself you can be true.

Take the time to discover what may be causing you pain,

Insights into your struggles and solutions you will gain.

With facilitation from the therapists, they will help you find,

A more positive future, the past, leave it behind.

There will be no over planning, no pressure to talk or to share,

If you should want to discuss your feelings then the therapists will be there.

The emotions you will feel can be deep. Some happy, some may be sad,

The time to connect with these, in the end you will be grateful you had.

What you discover about yourself is unique to just you,

The horses, they are there to guide you through.

Be open to the lessons they may have to teach,

They will do so without the need for speech.

At the end of the therapy, educated and more positive is how you will be feeling,

So let the four legged therapists lead you on the path of your healing.
